We wanted to make you aware of scammers purporting to be members of the Church Staff. They have been sending e-mails to other church staff members, and possibly to members of the congregation. No information was leaked to this scammer. 
It is a good reminder to let you know that we will never ask you for any financial information, we will never ask you to purchase gift cards or for a financial "favor" over an e-mail. A good way to check to see if it is a "real" communication is by looking at the sender's e-mail address. If it's not one you have seen from us before, it probably isn't us!
